Battery Equipment Auction – From Rivian and Aspen Aerogels to R3 Lithium, Cutrale and Jindal Films: The Next Industrial Opportunity May Already Be Built
AssetBuilt is bringing battery recycling equipment, EV manufacturing technology, industrial infrastructure and manufacturing real estate to market across the United States.
An industrial market in transition
For years, the conversation surrounding battery recycling, electric vehicles, and advanced manufacturing has centered on what needs to be built next. Billions have been invested in battery production, critical minerals processing, recycling and the industrial infrastructure needed to support these sectors.
But as production strategies evolve, a different opportunity is emerging: what happens to the equipment, infrastructure and industrial facilities already built when business plans change?
AssetBuilt, a global industrial asset advisory and disposition firm, is marketing equipment and industrial real estate associated with Rivian, Aspen Aerogels, R3 Lithium, Cutrale, Jindal Films, Milspec / STIC-Adhesive, G-TAC and Select Industries. These opportunities connect industrial asset recovery with capital redeployment and new investment.
R3 Lithium | Kentucky and Georgia
Two AssetBuilt offerings involve equipment surplus to R3 Lithium’s ongoing battery recycling and energy operations. On October 28 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, the inventory includes transformers, electrical distribution, process pumps, motors, valves, instrumentation and plant support equipment, including new and unused assets.
On November 3 in Covington, Georgia, the offering includes stainless steel vessels, pumping systems, process equipment and mechanical infrastructure. Battery recyclers, hydrometallurgical processors, chemical manufacturers, EPC contractors and energy infrastructure developers may find equipment suitable for their projects, subject to technical verification.
Aspen Aerogels | Advanced manufacturing campus
AssetBuilt is marketing the former Aspen Aerogels manufacturing complex in Register, Georgia, including an approximately 369,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility and associated infrastructure. The property may interest advanced materials producers, battery technology companies, industrial investors and manufacturers evaluating an established campus rather than greenfield development.
A separate equipment auction is scheduled for November 11, 2026. Real estate and equipment transactions are subject to their respective offering terms.
Rivian | EV and battery technology
An October 22 Southern California offering includes specialized equipment surplus to Rivian’s ongoing operations: lithium-ion battery research and manufacturing assets, formation and aging systems, testing technology, laboratory equipment and pilot-line machinery.
A separate October 22 Michigan offering features automotive production and battery cell assembly equipment from a Tier 1 EV components operation. Compatibility, condition, relocation costs and process requirements must be evaluated by buyers.
Cutrale | Florida campus and alternative uses
The Cutrale citrus processing and beverage manufacturing campus in Leesburg, Florida, includes substantial industrial electrical distribution, transformers, switchgear, refrigeration, steam generation, water handling, processing and warehousing infrastructure. AssetBuilt is marketing the campus for qualified acquisition interest alongside a machinery and equipment auction now planned for October 26–27, 2026.
Food and beverage producers, industrial operators and infrastructure investors may wish to investigate the property. Data center redevelopment is one possible use to evaluate, but no representation is made that the site is data-center-ready. Utility capacity, grid access, fiber, cooling, zoning, environmental conditions and redevelopment economics require independent due diligence.
Milspec / STIC-Adhesive | Los Angeles industrial real estate
AssetBuilt is marketing an approximately 40,000-square-foot industrial manufacturing and warehouse property associated with Milspec / STIC-Adhesive in the Los Angeles area, alongside an industrial coatings, mixing and chemical processing equipment offering.
The site may interest industrial owner-users and investors evaluating manufacturing, warehouse or alternative industrial applications. Data and technology infrastructure uses may merit preliminary investigation, but power, fiber, cooling, permitting, site configuration and economic feasibility have not been established.
Jindal Films | Polymer processing and recycling
The October 27 offering in Shawnee, Oklahoma includes BOPP film manufacturing and converting equipment, polymer recycling technology, industrial controls, compressors, utilities and plant support machinery. EREMA recycling and Atlas slitting systems are among the specialized technologies identified in the offering. Related industrial real estate may be discussed subject to availability and seller approval.
G-TAC and Select Industries | Automotive manufacturing
On November 10, G-TAC assets in Canton Township, Michigan include stamping machinery, robotic resistance welding systems and manufacturing automation. On December 3, Select Industries equipment in Dayton, Ohio includes heavy stamping presses and metal forming systems. An approximately 57,821-square-foot industrial manufacturing property associated with Select Industries is also being marketed.
Industrial real estate | Four opportunities
Aspen Aerogels in Georgia (approximately 369,000 square feet), Cutrale in Florida (substantial multi-building campus), Milspec / STIC-Adhesive in California (approximately 40,000 square feet), and Select Industries in Ohio (approximately 57,821 square feet) represent different industrial acquisition and redevelopment possibilities.
Existing buildings and utilities may be valuable starting points, but data center suitability is highly site-specific and cannot be inferred from the presence of industrial electrical equipment.
AssetBuilt Intelligence™
AssetBuilt Intelligence™ is a technology-assisted approach to identifying industrial equipment from photographs, nameplates and asset lists, exploring preliminary market value ranges and considering disposition strategies. It complements AssetBuilt’s industrial specialists and auction, private treaty, acquisition and advisory services.
The next investment may already exist
A transformer acquired for recycling may serve another industrial application. A battery testing system may support a new research program. A manufacturing campus may find a different industrial owner.
For companies developing the next generation of manufacturing, recycling, energy and infrastructure, the secondary industrial asset market deserves a place in the investment conversation.
The next major industrial opportunity may not need to be built from scratch. It may already be built.
