BYD Da Han to Launch October 13 as Dynasty Lineup Hits 10 Million Vehicles

BYD (HKEX: 1211) has produced the 10 millionth vehicle in its Dynasty lineup, with the upcoming Da Han flagship sedan marking the milestone as the company expands in the premium market.

Lu Tian, general manager of BYD's Dynasty sales division, announced the milestone on Weibo on Tuesday, thanking customers and employees.

The Da Han is scheduled to launch on October 13. Positioned above the existing Han, it will join the previously launched Da Tang SUV in expanding the Dynasty lineup's premium offerings.

The production milestone comes as Dynasty's monthly sales have returned to year-on-year growth, though cumulative sales this year remain below year-earlier levels. The new flagship will broaden its product range.

The Dynasty lineup sold 170,842 vehicles in August, up 13.88% year-on-year and 6.02% from July, marking its third consecutive month of year-on-year growth, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

From January through August, Dynasty sales totaled 1,045,805 vehicles, down 13.15% year-on-year. The decline narrowed from 22.44% in the first half.

By comparison, BYD's total new energy vehicle (NEV) sales rose 17.84% year-on-year to 440,293 in August. Sales in the first 8 months totaled 2,668,015 vehicles, down 6.84%.

The Da Han EV opened for pre-sales at the Chengdu Auto Show on August 21, offering 2 rear-wheel-drive variants and 1 all-wheel-drive variant at prices ranging from 249,900 yuan ($37,070) to 299,900 yuan.

Both rear-wheel-drive variants have a CLTC range of 1,008 km, while the all-wheel-drive version offers 880 km. The 5-seat sedan measures 5,256 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 3,130 mm.

BYD said at the start of pre-sales that all Da Han EV variants come standard with DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension, flash charging technology, rear-wheel steering and a LiDAR-based driver-assistance system.

BYD has also filed for regulatory approval of a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) version of the Da Han, though pre-sales for that version have yet to begin.

Another Dynasty flagship, the Da Tang EV, launched on June 17 and reached its 10,000th delivery on July 23, supporting BYD's expansion into the premium market.
