The Da Han EV opened for pre-sales at the Chengdu Auto Show on August 21, with the 3 variants initially priced at 249,900 yuan, 269,900 yuan and 299,900 yuan, respectively.

Final prices are 14,000 yuan, 20,000 yuan and 24,000 yuan below those pre-sales levels, respectively, lowering the cost of buying the Dynasty flagship sedan.

Positioned above the existing Han, the Da Han joins the previously launched Da Tang SUV in supporting the Dynasty lineup's push upmarket.

The 5-seat sedan measures 5,256 millimeters long, 1,999 millimeters wide and 1,510 millimeters tall, with a wheelbase of 3,130 millimeters and a drag coefficient of 0.197.

All 3 variants feature a 102.3-kWh second-generation Blade Battery. The 2 rear-wheel-drive variants offer a CLTC range of 1,008 kilometers, while the all-wheel-drive version delivers 880 kilometers.

BYD said the vehicle supports flash charging, taking 9 minutes to charge from 10% to 97%. At minus 30 degrees Celsius, charging takes an additional 3 minutes.

The rear-wheel-drive variants use a motor with a maximum output of 370 kW (496 hp) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.

The all-wheel-drive variant adds a 200-kW front motor, bringing combined maximum output to 570 kW and cutting the 0-to-100 km/h sprint to 3.3 seconds.

DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension, road preview and rear-wheel steering come standard across the lineup, with a minimum turning radius of 4.95 meters.

All Da Han EV variants feature the God's Eye B LiDAR-based driver-assistance system and God's Eye 5.0 driver-assistance capabilities, supporting navigation assistance on city roads and highways.

Comfort features include 2 front zero-gravity seats, Nappa leather upholstery, a 31-speaker Devialet audio system and soft-close doors on all 4 doors.

Current purchase benefits include 1 year of free flash charging, along with trade-in subsidies of 10,000 yuan for existing BYD owners and 6,000 yuan for owners of other brands.

The launch covers only battery-electric variants. BYD previously filed for regulatory approval of a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) version of the Da Han, but did not announce pricing for it at this launch.

The Da Han arrives as sales of the existing Han lineup remain under pressure. The Han lineup sold 2,529 vehicles in September, down 70.90% year-on-year and 30.83% from August, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

From January through September, cumulative Han sales totaled 44,324 vehicles, down 68.86% year-on-year, underscoring the backdrop to BYD's efforts to strengthen its sedan lineup with new models.

On September 29, a Da Han became the 10 millionth vehicle to roll off the production line in BYD's Dynasty lineup. The other flagship model, the Da Tang EV, launched on June 17 and had recorded sales of 40,222 vehicles by the end of September.
