Elonroad, NTU, ALBA and Scania test hands-free charging for electric heavy vehicles in Singapore
Summary
Elonroad has signed an MOU with NTU Singapore's ERI@N, ALBA W&H Smart City and Scania to evaluate automatic conductive stationary charging for electric heavy vehicles in Singapore. The partners will combine charging research, an operational logistics environment and vehicle installation support to test how the technology integrates into real-world operations.
Elonroad, NTU Singapore’s Energy Research Institute (ERI@N), ALBA W&H Smart City and Scania have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to evaluate automatic conductive stationary charging for electric heavy vehicles in Singapore.
The collaboration aims to evaluate how Elonroad’s automatic charging technology can be integrated into logistics operations in Singapore. ERI@N is contributing research and compatibility testing, ALBA W&H Smart City provides the operational environment for evaluating the system, and Scania supports installation on its vehicles.

“The next chapter of transport will be electric and increasingly autonomous,” said Karin Ebbinghaus, CEO of Elonroad. “Together with NTU, ALBA and Scania, we are bringing research, technology and everyday operations together in Singapore, with the ambition to make sustainable transport a more competitive choice.”
“Partnerships between academia and industry are essential for translating research innovation into real-world solutions,” said Professor Madhavi Srinivasan, Executive Director of ERI@N. “By combining ERI@N’s capabilities in EV charging research, test bedding and certification with Elonroad’s automated charging technology and potential applications from ALBA W&H Smart City and Scania, we aim to test and validate innovative charging solutions to support Singapore’s transport electrification goals.”
