Nio Adds Lanyue Wheel Package to ES8 as Deliveries Hold Strong One Year After Launch

• The package includes upgraded wheels and brake calipers and costs 25,800 yuan ($3,820) for the entry-level variant.

Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) has introduced a new "Lanyue" package for the ES8, expanding options for the large battery-electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) as deliveries remain strong a year after launch.

The package costs 25,800 yuan ($3,820) for the entry-level Executive Luxury variant and 10,800 yuan for the Executive Signature variant, Nio announced on Monday.

It includes 22-inch forged wheels valued at 25,800 yuan and gold brake calipers valued at 3,500 yuan, with the latter included at no additional charge.

The wheels use aerospace-grade 6000-series aluminum alloy and undergo forging under 10,000 tons of pressure and T6 heat treatment, Nio said. Each weighs 18.5 kilograms.

The wheels feature a variable wall thickness design and floating center caps that keep the logo upright as the wheels rotate, similar to those on the ET9 sedan.

With the package, prices including the battery start at 408,600 yuan for the Executive Luxury variant and 433,600 yuan for the Executive Signature variant, according to the Nio App.

Under the BaaS (battery as a service) battery rental plan, starting prices for the 2 variants equipped with the package are 300,600 yuan and 325,600 yuan, respectively.

Customers who lock in ES8 orders by September 30 can also access preferential financing and a limited-time 10,000 yuan allowance for optional equipment, Nio said.

The financing plan spans 60 monthly installments, with no interest for the first 24 months. The remaining 36 months carry an annualized fee rate of 3%, equivalent to an annualized interest rate of 5.64%.

The new option comes just after the third-generation ES8's first anniversary. The model was launched on September 20, 2025, with deliveries beginning the following day, and reached 150,000 cumulative deliveries yesterday.

The latest 10,000 deliveries took 30 days, matching the pace of the previous 10,000. That makes the ES8 a rare example in China of a model maintaining high delivery volumes a year after launch.

ES8 deliveries totaled about 11,000 in August, exceeding 10,000 for the second consecutive month and keeping it Nio Inc's highest-volume model.

The addition of a 5-seat version has broadened the ES8's potential customer base. Launched on July 9, with deliveries starting the next day, it expanded the lineup beyond 6- and 7-seat configurations into the large 5-seat SUV segment.

The ES8 has become a mainstay of Nio's sales as deliveries continue to grow. It accounted for about 62% of the Nio main brand's deliveries and about 38% of Nio Inc's total in the first 8 months of this year, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
