Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) sub-brand Onvo has launched a Starry Gold design package for the L90 at a promotional price of 6,000 yuan ($890), seeking to boost the large electric SUV's (sport utility vehicle) appeal with exterior and interior updates.
Onvo announced on Weibo on September 23 that the package has become available, combining the new Starry Gold exterior design with a Mist Gray-themed luxury interior. Display vehicles have arrived at stores.
The package has a list price of 10,000 yuan, according to an official poster released by Onvo, putting the promotional price 40% lower.
The exterior pairs a Starry Blue body with a Dawn Gold upper section, while titanium-gold trim accentuates the floating roof.
The Mist Gray-themed interior combines cool gray tones with soft, warm lighting. The update focuses on exterior and interior design, with Onvo making no mention of upgrades to the powertrain, battery or driver-assistance hardware.
The new package comes as L90 deliveries remain well below their early levels. The model delivered 2,209 vehicles in August, up 11.90% from July but down 79.11% from a year earlier, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
L90 deliveries began in August 2025 with 10,575 vehicles and reached a monthly peak of 11,722 in October that year. Deliveries totaled 19,945 in the first 8 months of this year.
The current 2026 L90 went on sale on April 21, with deliveries beginning on May 9. It offers 6-seat and 7-seat layouts and added LiDAR-equipped versions and the Nio World Model driver-assistance system.
The model starts at 265,800 yuan including the battery, or 179,800 yuan under the BaaS (battery as a service) battery rental plan.
Nio's brands have recently rolled out a series of exclusive color schemes, design packages and special editions to give existing models fresh selling points.
Onvo launched the Starlight design package for the L80 large 5-seat SUV on September 11. It includes Starry Blue paint and 21-inch wheels and was announced with a promotional price of 10,080 yuan.
The Nio main brand also recently introduced the Lanyue package for the third-generation ES8 and the purple-themed Aura Edition for the EC6.
Its Firefly brand has repeatedly taken a similar approach, introducing special editions with exclusive paint colors, decals and interiors to broaden the appeal of its existing model.
