Xpeng delivered a record 118,390 vehicles in the third quarter, up 2.05% year-on-year and 14.61% from the second quarter, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Deliveries fell within the guidance range of 115,000 to 121,000 vehicles issued in August, slightly above the midpoint of 118,000.

The recovery in sales has yet to fully translate into improved profitability. Xpeng's second-quarter revenue rose 8.0% year-on-year to 19.74 billion yuan, while its net loss widened 179% to 1.34 billion yuan.

Overall gross margin rose to 20.7% in the second quarter, but vehicle margin stood at 12.1%, down from 14.3% a year earlier. The company attributed the decline to product transitions.
