Xpeng September Deliveries Hit 2026 High of 41,256, Down 0.78% Year-on-Year

Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) delivered 41,256 vehicles in September, lifting deliveries for the third quarter to a record and meeting its previously issued quarterly guidance.
The Chinese electric vehicle maker released its latest delivery figures on Thursday. September deliveries fell 0.78% from a year earlier while rose 5.50% from August, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The deliveries were the highest for any month this year but slightly below the 41,581 vehicles delivered a year earlier, ending 3 consecutive months of year-on-year growth from June through August.
Xpeng delivered 118,390 vehicles in the third quarter, up 2.05% year-on-year and 14.61% from the second quarter, surpassing the previous quarterly record of 116,249 vehicles set in the fourth quarter of last year.
The company had guided for third-quarter deliveries of 115,000 to 121,000 vehicles when it released its second-quarter earnings on August 24. Actual deliveries were slightly above the range's midpoint of 118,000 vehicles.
Xpeng delivered 284,367 vehicles in the first 9 months of this year, down 9.20% year-on-year, according to data compiled by CnEVPost. The decline narrowed from 10.49% in the first 8 months, though the company has yet to make up the shortfall from weaker deliveries early in the year.
Deliveries of the Mona L03 exceeded 10,000 vehicles in September, with Xpeng saying production capacity continued to expand. The model has launched in markets including Hong Kong, the Philippines, Australia and Indonesia, with deliveries getting underway.
The GX flagship 6-seat SUV recorded 7,224 deliveries during the month, exceeding 7,000 vehicles for 3 consecutive months and helping Xpeng expand sales of its premium models.
Xpeng launched the G9L flagship 5-seat SUV in China on September 17, pairing it with the GX to address demand from families seeking 5-seat and 6-seat vehicles.
The G9L launched with a limited-time starting price of 231,800 yuan ($34,420), offering battery-electric and extended-range powertrains. The company plans to hold the model's overseas launch in Paris, France, in October.
Xpeng announced on September 11 that the first mass-produced right-hand-drive G9L vehicles had rolled off the production line and would soon be shipped to Australia, as it advanced the model's overseas roll-out.
Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng said during the company's earnings call in August that Xpeng would aim to exceed 60,000 monthly vehicle sales in the fourth quarter with the launch of new models, including the G9L and Mona L05 SUV.
That target is about 45% above September's delivery level. Under plans the company announced in August, the Mona L05 is scheduled to launch in China in the fourth quarter, further expanding Xpeng's SUV lineup.
