QuantumScape unveils QS PowerBlock solid-state batteries for AI data center racks
QuantumScape introduced the QS PowerBlock, a modular solid-state lithium-metal battery system for in-rack energy storage in AI data centers, claiming four times the power density and five times the runtime of current industry standards. The design targets 800VDC architectures for 1 MW racks and will be displayed at the 2026 OCP Global Summit, where QuantumScape also announced it joined the Open Compute Project.
