Iowa County Supervisors Unanimously Reject Rezoning for Alliant's Proposed Morgan Valley Gas Plant

The Linn County Board of Supervisors voted 3-0 to deny a rezoning application for Alliant Energy subsidiary IPL's proposed Morgan Valley Energy Center, which would add three gas-fired power plants. The Sierra Club praised the decision, citing water resource and land-use concerns, as IPL's application remains pending before the Iowa Utilities Commission on Dec. 7.
