Smart battery architecture bypasses weak cells to extend EV battery life by over 20%
Researchers at Chalmers University of Technology found that reconfigurable battery packs capable of bypassing weak cells can extend electric vehicle battery lifespan by more than 20 percent in high-voltage vehicles. The study, published in Nature Communications, suggests the approach could also lower total battery costs over its lifetime.
