Wolfspeed Secures Conditional $1.5B US Department of War Loan for Silicon Carbide and GaN Power Devices

Wolfspeed has received a conditional commitment from the US Department of War for up to $1.5 billion in 30-year financing to support domestic production of silicon carbide materials and wide bandgap power devices. The funding would advance defense-related initiatives including GaN epitaxy upgrades and radiation-hardening capabilities, though it remains subject to due diligence and government approvals.
