China proposes turquoise marker lights for Level 3+ automated driving, targeting 2028 rollout

China's MIIT has opened public consultation on a draft mandatory standard designating turquoise marker lights for vehicles with Level 3 or higher automated driving systems. The proposal, effective January 1, 2028, would make installation optional but require automatic activation when the system is engaged, while restricting text and facial displays on vehicle lights.
