Waymo Opens Fully Autonomous Robotaxi Service to All Dallas Riders

As we have seen, 2026 is a year of rapid expansion at Waymo. The company keeps entering new markets and opening robotaxi service there, and now Dallas is the latest such place to join. This coverage centres on fully autonomous robotaxi service.

“Starting today, anyone in Dallas can download the Waymo app and hail a fully autonomous ride. Since opening our service in February, we’ve welcomed nearly 150,000 riders in Dallas from our interest list to experience the safety, reliability, and magic of Waymo, and now we’re offering our service to everyone,” the company writes.

So, yeah, part of the reason it feels like we’re constantly hearing about Waymo entering new cities is that it rolls out and announces service in stages. There’s the first announcement, there’s the testing, there’s the limited robotaxi service for employees and such, and then there’s the launch of broad robotaxi service for everyone and anyone. The latter is where things are now in Dallas.

The company also wrote about expanding its Dallas service geographically. “We’ve proudly helped Dallasites run errands, commute to work, and celebrate nights out with friends. Now, we’re going a step further to unlock a new way for tourists and other visitors to get around the city. We continue fully autonomous testing at Dallas Love Field Airport terminals and look forward to serving travelers there soon. And to get there efficiently, we’ll soon begin fully autonomous testing on Dallas freeways, which is the final step before offering these routes to public riders.”
