Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) saw monthly deliveries surpass 50,000 for the first time in October, setting a record as overseas growth supported its fourth-quarter sales push.

The Chinese electric vehicle maker said on Sunday that it delivered 50,237 vehicles in October. That's up 19.57% year-on-year and 21.77% from September, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

The latest figure surpassed the previous record of 42,013 vehicles set in October last year and marked a return to year-on-year growth after a slight decline in September.

In the first 10 months of the year, Xpeng delivered 334,604 vehicles, down 5.80% year-on-year, narrowing the decline from 9.20% in the first 9 months, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Overseas markets provided a key source of growth. The company said overseas deliveries reached a monthly record of 13,326 vehicles in October, up 166% year-on-year.

Overseas deliveries rose 32.53% from September and accounted for 26.53% of total October deliveries, up from 24.37% in September, according to CnEVPost calculations.

That also puts Xpeng's October deliveries in China at 36,911 vehicles, the highest in a year.

Xpeng's overseas deliveries totaled 72,805 vehicles in the first 10 months of the year, accounting for about 21.76% of its total deliveries over the period.

The delivery record comes as Xpeng expands its lineup to drive further growth toward year-end. The Mona L05 went on sale in China on October 29, with nationwide deliveries beginning on November 1.

The 5-seat SUV is the third model in the Mona lineup, offering battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants at a limited-time starting price of 139,800 yuan ($20,820).

Xpeng said 5,000 Mona L05 vehicles available for near-term delivery sold out within 3 minutes of launch. Cumulative deliveries of the Mona lineup have exceeded 360,000 vehicles in the 2 years since its debut.

The company began global shipments of the Mona L05 on October 26, with plans to sell it in 65 countries and regions, further expanding the lineup's overseas reach.

Xpeng is also accelerating the overseas roll-out of its premium models. In its latest statement, the company reiterated that its flagship GX SUV had secured nearly 4,000 orders in the Middle East, even though local pricing had yet to be announced.

The company said on October 27 that it planned to launch the GX and G9L flagship SUVs in the Middle East the following week and announce local prices.

As of October 27, Xpeng's global sales network covered 83 countries and regions, with more than 1,200 overseas stores.

Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng said on an earnings call in August that the company would aim to exceed 60,000 monthly sales in the fourth quarter with the introduction of new models including the G9L and Mona L05.

Reaching 60,000 vehicles would require a further increase of about 19.43% from October's delivery volume, making the ramp-up of Mona L05 deliveries a key factor to watch in the coming months.
