Proterial and FEV simulate amorphous-alloy EV motor free of heavy rare earths
Proterial and FEV used simulation to evaluate an EV traction motor concept pairing Proterial's amorphous alloy core with its heavy-rare-earth-free neodymium sintered magnets. Simulations suggest peak power could rise from 230 kW to 300 kW with 27% less motor weight and higher efficiency on WLTP and ARTEMIS cycles.
