Volkswagen recalls nearly 73,000 EVs worldwide over battery defect that can cause fires

Volkswagen is recalling about 72,668 ID. Buzz, ID.3, ID.4, ID.7, and Cupra Born EVs built from 2022 to 2025 after a supplier defect was linked to potential battery fires. Until a fix is available, VW is remotely limiting charging to 80% capacity on affected vehicles.
