Samsung SDI Takes Full Ownership of Indiana Battery Plant as GM Exits $3.5B Joint Venture
Samsung SDI is acquiring GM's 49.99% stake in their Indiana battery joint venture, making the plant its first wholly owned battery facility in North America. The two companies will instead co-develop next-generation prismatic EV batteries, even as GM recalibrates its electrification strategy amid softer EV demand.
