LG Energy Solution, Seoul National University cut LMR battery gassing via voltage limits

LG Energy Solution and Seoul National University identified charge and discharge voltage conditions that suppress gas generation in cobalt-free lithium manganese-rich cells, a key barrier to large-format EV use. Optimized 40 Ah cells kept 92.2% of initial energy after 883 cycles, supporting LG's planned LMR prismatic production with GM in the US from 2028.
