Tesla Semi named lead supplier in 2,500-truck electric Class 8 order, largest in US history

Tesla has won the primary supplier slot for 2,500 battery-electric Class 8 trucks through the new ZET SCALE shipper alliance, an order that would nearly double the US electric heavy-truck fleet. The deal, which includes secondary suppliers Kenworth, Volvo, and RIDE, also introduces a leasing program designed to absorb residual-value risk for fleets.
