Bibby Marine launches "battery-first" electric offshore wind vessel in Spain
British firm Bibby Marine has launched the Staffordshire, a first-of-its-kind "battery-first" electric commissioning service operation vessel, at Armon Shipyard in Vigo, Spain. The vessel pairs a 22.4 MWh LFP battery system with dual-fuel methanol generators and is expected to save 155,000 tonnes of CO2 over its 25-year lifespan.
