EnerSys dedicates South Carolina lithium cell plant to defense, aerospace use

EnerSys will focus its planned South Carolina lithium cell factory on defense, aerospace, and specialized industrial applications needing US supply chains. The DOE has awarded a revised $150 million grant toward the roughly $500 million project, with construction starting in fiscal 2028 and initial capacity of 1 GWh per year.
