Volvo Drops Lidar on EX90 and ES90, Compensates Owners Worldwide
Volvo confirmed it is permanently abandoning lidar-based features on its EX90 and ES90 electric SUVs, offering owners compensation ranging from $1,500 in the US to €1,500 in Europe. The decision follows terminated contracts with supplier Luminar, which filed for bankruptcy in December 2025, leaving marketed safety features unfulfilled.
