UK adopts Euro 7 emissions standard, including EV battery lifespan and state-of-health rules
The UK Department for Transport has confirmed Great Britain will adopt the EU's Euro 7 emissions standard with no separate GB-specific approval process, covering brake and tire particle limits plus EV battery requirements. Euro 7 sets minimum battery capacity retention standards of 80% after five years or 100,000 km and mandates standardized state-of-health monitors, applying to new cars from November 2027.
