Tesla's Texas Megapack factory wins foreign-trade zone status, but China tariffs still apply

The US Foreign-Trade Zones Board approved a 14-month subzone for Tesla's Brookshire, Texas Megapack plant, letting the company defer duties on roughly 80 imported components. However, Chinese LFP cells and other parts hit by Section 301, 232, or 122 tariffs remain subject to those duties, which are merely deferred until finished Megapacks leave the zone.
