Li Auto hires world-model expert to lead robot foundation-model development

Li Auto has reportedly hired a veteran world-model expert, nicknamed Liu Yu, to head its embodied behavior unit and develop a dedicated foundation model for robots. The team, kept under 50 people, will build a separate model rather than reuse Li Auto's autonomous-driving system, differing from Tesla and Xpeng's unified approach.
