Tesla starts production-quality Optimus robots at Fremont, unveils Optimus Academy training plan
Tesla has begun building production-quality Optimus humanoid robots on a high-volume line at its Fremont factory, repurposed from former Model S and Model X space, with capacity eventually targeting about 20,000 units a week. The company also revealed an Optimus Academy where 10,000 to 20,000 robots will practice tasks and feed training data into future models, with external deliveries planned for late next year.
