Toyota to Build Lexus Electric SUV in China by 2027, Starting at 1,000 Units Monthly
Toyota plans to produce a new Lexus electric SUV at a wholly owned Shanghai plant starting in the second half of 2027, with initial output of about 1,000 units per month. Annual production is expected to grow to tens of thousands of units from 2028, marking Toyota's first next-gen EV built outside Japan.
