Hybrids Hit Record 16% US Market Share as EV Sales Slip Post-Tax-Credit
Hybrid electric vehicles reached a record 16% of new US light-duty vehicle sales in Q2 2026, while battery electric and plug-in hybrid sales declined following the expiration of federal tax credits. Overall electrified vehicle share rose to 24%, up from 22% a year earlier.
