AZL consortium benchmarks CFRP rotor sleeves for high-speed electric motors

An industry consortium led by AZL Aachen is advancing a systematic comparison of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic rotor sleeves for high-speed electric motors, testing press-fit and direct-winding designs across multiple manufacturing routes. The project also develops and validates characterization methods to assess mechanical, thermal, and long-term performance, aiming to provide reliable data on material trade-offs.
