Report: Stratos Data Center's Methane Power Could Cause Premature Deaths, Billions in Health Damages
A new NRDC-backed report estimates that the proposed Stratos data center in Utah, powered by up to 9 GW of on-site methane gas generation, could cause 5–45 premature deaths and $75–$690 million in health damages annually. Over 30 years, PM2.5 pollution from the project could accumulate to as many as 1,350 premature deaths and $20.7 billion in economic harm across Utah and downwind states.
