Air exposure of manganese precursor may shorten EV battery life, study finds

A study from Hanyang University reveals that air exposure during manufacturing alters manganese chemistry in nickel-rich cathodes, creating reactive defects that accelerate degradation. Adjusting lithium content during synthesis can suppress these defects and preserve battery longevity.
