CATL unveils dual-battery system with swappable main pack to speed heavy-duty truck electrification

CATL has launched a dual-battery system for heavy-duty trucks that pairs a swappable main battery with a 77-kWh range-extension pack, lifting main-pack depth of discharge from about 70% to over 95%. The company also upgraded its Qiji battery-swapping network and plans 900 truck swap stations by end-2026, expanding to 2,000 by 2027.
