Rivian adds second shift to R2 line as it scales output of its 'breakout' EV

Rivian will introduce a second shift at its Illinois plant by end of September to accelerate R2 production, targeting 65,000–70,000 deliveries this year. The company plans a third shift in 2027 and future output from its Georgia facility to support the affordable SUV's growth.
