Chinese automakers could capture 11% of US new car sales by 2038, or about 1.7 million vehicles annually, if Washington eases restrictions on North America-built vehicles, according to Mobility Global. The firm puts a low-to-moderate probability on barriers being lifted within 10 years, with Mexico-based exports possible from 2029 and US factories in the 2030s.
