Ultium Cells to Produce LMR Prismatic Battery Cells in Tennessee for Future GM EVs

Ultium Cells, the GM-LG Energy Solution joint venture, will begin producing lithium manganese rich (LMR) prismatic battery cells at its Spring Hill, Tennessee plant. The company claims it will be the first to commercially produce the next-generation chemistry, which offers 33% greater energy density than LFP cells at comparable cost.
