T&E Slams Franco-German EU Car CO2 Deal as 'Historic Mistake' for EV Industry

Transport & Environment has branded a French-German agreement to weaken EU car CO2 standards and battery sourcing rules a 'historic mistake' that threatens Europe's EV and battery competitiveness. The deal would cut projected EV supply from 57% to 43% in 2030 and allow Chinese-battery cars to be labeled 'Made-in-EU,' endangering over 250 GWh of European gigafactory capacity.
