Chery to Open UK R&D Center, Paving Way for Local Production
Chery will open a passenger car R&D center in Bedfordshire, England, this fall, focusing initially on UK-driving calibration and later on autonomous driving and AI, as part of its deeper UK market push. The move precedes local manufacturing, with Nissan set to build Chery models at Sunderland from next year, marking the first large-scale Chinese car brand production in the UK.
