Chery recalls 53,882 Omoda and Tiggo 5x cars in China over rear axle welding defect

Chery is recalling 53,882 Omoda series and Tiggo 5x vehicles built between June 2022 and December 2023 in China due to a rear axle welding defect that could cause wheel detachment. The move follows a Malaysian recall of 8,878 Omoda 5 SUVs last month over the same issue.
