BEIJING, Oct 30 (Reuters) – A legal challenge to Chinese electric vehicle battery maker CATL’s plant in Debrecen, Hungary, has been dismissed by a local court after more than 3-1/2-years of litigation, the state-backed Securities Times reported on Friday.

The court threw out a lawsuit brought by local residents, ruling that the plaintiffs no longer had standing because the battery plant’s permit documentation had since been revised. It also found no violations in the government’s permitting process, the report said.

The decision removes a key legal overhang for CATL’s Debrecen project, less than a month after the factory began trial production.
