Fortescue uses KUKA welding robots to handle 6 MW charging cables for 240-tonne electric haul trucks

Fortescue is deploying modified KUKA automotive welding robots to manage the massive liquid-cooled copper cables needed for its 6 MW fast-charging system. The system can recharge the 3.2 MWh battery of its Liebherr T264E electric haul truck in about 30 minutes at its Pilbara mining operations.
