Hyundai and LG Energy Solution Launch Pilot to Repurpose Used EV Batteries for Fast Charging

Hyundai Motor Group has partnered with LG Energy Solution, Hyundai Engineering and Wonik PNE to test an energy storage system that repurposes retired EV batteries to power fast-charging stations. The 200-kWh used-battery system, described as Korea's first direct link between used Hyundai and Kia EV batteries and charging infrastructure, aims to cut grid pressure and charging costs while extending battery life.
